Medicare now covers GLP-1 weight-loss drugs for $50 a month: See if you're eligible

Starting July 1, millions of Medicare enrollees will gain access to weight-loss drug coverage through a temporary pilot program. This includes GLP-1 weight-loss medications available for $50 a month. Meanwhile, patent protection for Novo Nordisk’s blockbuster drug Wegovy, which utilizes a second generation GLP-1 active ingredient and is at least twice as effective, is expected to expire by the end of the decade, potentially impacting the future availability of these treatments.
