Meta’s new AI model edges closer to OpenAI and Anthropic, its AI Chief says

Meta Platforms Inc. has launched Muse Spark 1.3, its most powerful LLM to date. According to the company's AI Chief, this release allows Meta to more or less catch up with competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic. While Muse Spark 1.3 is available to paying developers, Meta has not yet decided if its weights will be published, although weights for version 1.2 remain planned. The AI Act provides certain exemptions for open-source models, excluding those with systemic risk.
