Meta expanding plans for its largest data center

Meta is expanding its largest data center, Hyperion, located in Richland Parish, Louisiana, to reach 5 gigawatts of compute capacity. The company announced on Monday that total investment in the project has now surpassed $50 billion. This represents a significant increase from the initial cost projection of over $27 billion reported last October. The expansion aims to bolster the facility's infrastructure to support the company's growing requirements for AI compute capacity and large-scale data processing.
