Meta’s mega settlement could change social media UX as we know it

Meta has agreed to a $16.7 billion settlement with 47 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. The agreement follows allegations that Meta purposefully designed social media sites to cause compulsive use among young users. Consequently, Meta must pay significant damages and implement safeguards to protect children's mental health. As part of this landmark deal, New Hampshire is set to receive $224 million over ten years to address these critical social media UX issues.
