Mexico takes new action after deaths in U.S. custody

Mexico will file criminal complaints in the United States regarding the deaths of Mexican nationals who died while in ICE custody. Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco Álvarez confirmed the plan on Thursday, escalating the situation beyond previous diplomatic complaints. President Claudia Sheinbaum stated during a press conference that the government will do everything in its power to ensure those who died during ICE operations or while detained are not neglected, increasing pressure on the U.S. administration.
