Michael Showalter Directing ‘Serendipity’ Redo For Amazon MGM Studios & Miramax

Michael Showalter will direct a modern retelling of the cult-classic romantic comedy Serendipity for Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax. Marc Klein, the writer of the original 2001 feature, is penning the new screenplay. Casting is currently underway for the project. The film will be produced by Showalter and Jordana Mollick for Semi-Formal Productions, alongside Simon Fields, who also produced the original movie. This collaboration brings together original creative elements with a contemporary directorial vision.
