Montana's motion to dismiss bison lawsuit

The administration of Governor Greg Gianforte filed a motion in federal court on September 14 to dismiss its lawsuit against the 2024 Bison Management Plan of Yellowstone National Park. This joint motion for voluntary dismissal was submitted by the State of Montana and Federal Defendants, including Secretary Burgum. The legal action is being dropped without prejudice, effectively ending the current challenge brought by Montana against the federal management strategies for the bison population.
