field-cage: a local-first alternative for GitHub Actions egress control

The field-cage tool is an MIT-licensed eBPF agent designed to monitor and restrict outbound connections from Linux GitHub Actions runners. Unlike the CI/CD security platform Harden-Runner, field-cage serves as a local-first egress filter requiring no hosted backend or subscriptions. It provides audit and block functionality for both public and private repositories. Separately, beginners are learning to initialize GitHub projects from local folders using Git for version control and SSH for secure account authentication.
