NASA is on track to launch Artemis III astronauts in summer 2027

NASA is currently on track to launch Artemis III astronauts during the summer of 2027. This specific mission is regarded as a vital proving-ground operation. It serves as a necessary precursor before NASA proceeds to send astronauts to land on the harsh surface of the moon during the Artemis IV mission scheduled for 2028. These sequential missions represent the agency's strategic approach to returning humans to the lunar environment through a phased deployment of crewed flights.
