National Guard member jailed after allegedly pointing weapon at fellow service member in DC

Zion Mitchell, a 21-year-old Georgia National Guard member, is jailed after allegedly pointing a loaded weapon at a female colleague in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred inside a black van parked near a Popeyes on northeast H Street during a dispute over military grooming regulations. Six other National Guard members witnessed the event. Mitchell faces felony charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence in the Superior Court.
