Airman who died in rappelling accident at Texas college football game identified

The US military identified Tech Sgt Ian Patterson as the air force officer who died after falling from the rafters of the Alamodome. The incident occurred during a pregame rappelling demonstration before a University of Texas at San Antonio football game against Navy. Patterson was a 15-year military veteran and a tactical air control party instructor assigned to the sixth combat training squadron, detachment two, based at Joint Base San Antonio, during the fatal aerial demonstration accident.
