JSO: Woman with mental health issues shot at officers before being shot

Aya Gibson Taylor, a resident of Fort Lee, N.J., underwent a bone marrow transplant in August 2012 at Hackensack University Medical Center to treat sickle cell anemia. Her mother, Tyrene Gibson, authored a book detailing their shared experience with the disease. Following her recovery and health journey, Aya Gibson Taylor achieved a significant milestone by enrolling as a first-year student at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine this past July to pursue her professional goals.
