Nintendo Asks Court To Dismiss U.S. Tariff Refund Lawsuit

Nintendo is asking a U.S. court to dismiss a class-action lawsuit filed by gamers seeking refunds for tariffs. The plaintiffs claim Nintendo must refund customers after tariffs affecting prices were deemed illegal. Nintendo increased prices for the original Switch and Switch 2 peripherals in August 2025, citing market conditions. The Japanese publisher now argues that players are not entitled to these refunds despite the higher costs paid for console hardware and various accessories during the launch.
