Nintendo Will Not Refund Tariff Fees It Passed Onto Customers, Saying They “Received Exactly What They Bargained And Paid For”

Nintendo refuses to pass tariff refunds to customers, asserting that consumers received exactly what they bargained and paid for. In August 2025, the company raised original Switch console prices due to tariffs. After a US court deemed these tariffs illegal in February 2026, Nintendo sued the US government for refunds and interest. Consequently, a class action lawsuit was filed in April 2026, claiming Nintendo must refund customers who paid the inflated prices during that period.
