Reflection AI releases first open model to rival China

Reflection AI, a startup backed by Nvidia and founded by former Google DeepMind researchers, has unveiled Beam, its first open-weight model. Designed specifically for reasoning, coding, and agentic work, the company states that Beam rivals leading open-source technologies from the U.S. and China. According to a blog post released Monday, Reflection AI plans to make the model weights available for download later this month, allowing users to run the technology on their own hardware.
