Tech giants launch flexible-power coalition for data centers

Rune has launched a data center in Texas using modular technology to connect directly to solar farms, utilizing wasted energy without requiring new power plants. The startup recently secured a $40 million Series A round led by Spark Capital to scale this fast, clean compute model. Simultaneously, Google and Nvidia partnered with Emerald AI to create a coalition for flexible-power data centers, aiming to reduce electricity prices and mitigate public backlash regarding resource impacts and infrastructure growth.
