The Obama Presidential Center is not an official presidential library, despite containing a Chicago Public Library branch. Unlike official libraries, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) owns and preserves all digital records, print documents, and physical artifacts from Barack Obama's presidency. In 2017, Obama and the Obama Foundation opted out of the NARA system for the Jackson Park project. Additionally, tickets to visit the Obama Presidential Center have sold out until November.
