Co-pilot on FlyDubai flight said to have extremist views

A FlyDubai co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, violently attacked his captain during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv in an attempt to crash the airliner. Investigators report that al-Hammami stated he was not afraid of death and intended to crash the jet. Security officials in Oman had previously scrutinized him for embracing extreme Islamic views. Authorities are currently examining his time in Syria, his extremist interests, and thousands of deleted social media posts related to the incident.
