Ofrenda: a private, offline ofrenda that remembers with open-weight models

Ofrenda is a local-first virtual memory altar created for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine. Designed for Día de los Muertos, it allows families to preserve stories, songs, and foods using local open-weight models. Users can interact with an AI companion via text or voice calls. To maintain boundaries, the AI discusses the loved one but never impersonates them, ensuring families, not companies, control these personal memories.
