Oil supply disruptions may last through 2027

The U.S. expects oil supply disruptions resulting from the U.S.-Iran war to reach approximately 600,000 barrels per day through the end of next year. This ongoing conflict continues to crimp shipments via the critical Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for regional oil and gas. Consequently, the strait has been effectively blockaded since the outbreak of war, leaving numerous oil tankers and cargo vessels anchored off Port sultan Qaboos in Muscat, Oman, as disruptions may last through 2027.
