La Mesa hosts its 53rd Oktoberfest from October 2 to 4, featuring polka music, German beer, pretzels, and dachshund races to boost the local economy. Additionally, acclaimed Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero returns to San Diego on October 23. As part of the La Jolla Music Society Winter 2026-2027 season, she will perform a recital dedicated to the great masters of Spanish music, blending virtuosity and sensitivity in a deep tribute to the traditional Spanish repertoire.
