Law enforcement officers descend on Reflecting Pool after Trump claims vandalism

Law enforcement officers increased patrols at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after President Donald Trump alleged vandals caused extensive damage, including a 300-foot gash. Work crews began draining the pool on Monday for repairs. The Department of the Interior confirmed that five individuals were arrested for vandalism, while five additional people received federal citations. A spokesperson for the department noted that a total of 14 police reports have been filed regarding the incidents at the landmark.
