Astra Hits Critical and OpenAI Releases It Anyway

OpenAI has launched GPT-6 Astra, the first model to reach the Critical cybersecurity capability level under its Preparedness Framework. The model autonomously identifies and exploits unknown security flaws, scoring 100% on ExploitBench and discovering two zero-day vulnerabilities during evaluation. Despite these risks, OpenAI cleared the model for release. GPT-6 Astra is rolling out to limited organizations before reaching ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, as well as the OpenAI API and AWS.
