Oscars: Belgium Picks Lukas Dhont’s ‘Coward’ as Best Int’l Feature Submission

Belgium has selected Lukas Dhont’s film Coward to represent the country in the International Feature Film race at the 99th Academy Awards. The queer WWI drama previously earned best acting honors at Cannes for lead actors Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne. This submission marks the third time Belgium has entered a film directed by Dhont into the Oscars, following his 2018 debut Girl. The production continues Dhont's history of submitting acclaimed cinema to the prestigious awards ceremony.
