Outdoor event cancellations, employees urged to stay indoors due to wildfire smoke

Wildfire smoke from Canada is severely impacting air quality across Western New York and southeast Wisconsin. In Erie County, Executive Mark Poloncarz ordered all outdoor employees to remain inside for the day. Simultaneously, the City of Milwaukee has suspended certain services as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory. Residents in both regions are urged to limit outdoor exposure while air quality is expected to remain unhealthy for the time being.
