Overwatch’s Barely-A-Year-Old Stadium Mode Is Going On Life Support

Blizzard is stopping the addition of new heroes and maps to Overwatch's Stadium mode after nearly one year. Game director Aaron Keller revealed that both ranked and unranked versions of the MOBA-inspired format are the least played modes. Only 3% of daily players engage with Stadium, whereas 54% participate in unranked 5v5 role queue. While Blizzard will continue supporting the mode, development plans have shifted because Stadium has settled into a very small, dedicated audience.
