Volunteers in Council Bluffs assembled Shine Bright kits on Wednesday. This initiative is a collaboration involving United Way of the Midlands, Omaha and Council Bluffs Public Schools, Papillion La Vista Schools, and JAG Nebraska, among other organizations. Separately, the Chesterfield aquatic center, originally constructed in 1997 with a leisure pool and 25yard competition pool, has undergone various expansions. These additions include a bathhouse, lazy river, splash pad, slides, spray pad, and a dedicated support building for staff.
