Paramount Skydance agrees to delay Warner Bros. merger

Paramount Skydance has agreed to postpone its $111 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery until June 2027 or the conclusion of an antitrust trial. This agreement with a 12-state coalition, led by California, addresses concerns regarding competition in theatrical and cable markets. Consequently, Paramount faces a $7-million-a-day ticking fee starting September 30, potentially costing millions unless a settlement is reached or a federal judge issues a ruling on the state attorneys general's suit.
