Families of two Tanzanian men fatally shot in 2019 at a Canadian-owned gold mine in northern Tanzania are initiating a trial in London’s High Court. The lawsuit targets the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), the body overseeing the London gold market. Plaintiffs, joined by thirty other Tanzanians, seek redress for the LBMA certifying the mine's output as responsible gold. This follows a Canadian court's decision to dismiss a separate lawsuit over the killings due to lack of jurisdiction.
