Stripe and Advent International make unsolicited $53B bid to acquire PayPal

Stripe and private equity firm Advent International have reportedly submitted a joint, unsolicited bid to acquire PayPal for approximately $53.4 billion. According to Reuters, the offer was submitted earlier this month and is supported by roughly $50 billion in committed bank financing. Under the proposed deal, Stripe and Advent would jointly own PayPal.
