Pedestrian struck, killed on Route 44 in Raynham

Two fatal pedestrian accidents occurred Tuesday morning. In Raynham, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 44, as confirmed by Police Chief David LaPlante and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita. Separately, the California Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian death on Highway 92 west of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. Authorities were notified around 6:15 a.m. after finding a deceased individual who had been walking in the left lane under the Mariners Island overpass, blocking multiple lanes.
