Pentagon creates Autonomous Warfare Command to scale drones and AI

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the creation of the Autonomous Warfare Command, known as AutoWarCom, during his annual State of the Force speech. This new command is dedicated to developing and fielding drones, robots, and other autonomous systems across all branches of the US military. Hegseth emphasized that the pace of war is changing, necessitating a specialized entity to scale robotic capabilities and ensure the delivery of autonomous warfare technology throughout the entire defense infrastructure.
