Permanent daylight saving time: 19 states ready to end time change if Congress gives them the OK

Nineteen states, including Alabama, are prepared to end the seasonal time change process if Congress grants the required authorization. Under the current system, clocks move ahead one hour during the second Sunday in March for daylight saving time and move back one hour on the first Sunday in November to return to standard time.
