NASA Updates Next Steps for Commercial Swift Boost Mission

NASA and Katalyst Space announced that the LINK spacecraft will not capture or boost the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory to a higher altitude. This decision follows an ongoing commercial spacecraft attitude control issue, effectively calling off the rescue mission intended to extend the aging satellite's science mission. Despite this setback, LINK will still attempt to conduct rendezvous and proximity operations with the Swift Observatory to evaluate capabilities, as the original plan to save the sinking telescope is cancelled.
