U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin to discuss American proposals for ending the Ukraine war. The envoys aim to resume direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which were suspended six months ago. Putin expressed full trust in U.S. mediation during the three-hour meeting. To facilitate the envoys' subsequent visit to Kyiv, both Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to a temporary pause on airstrikes against their respective capitals.
