Karen Bass calls Nithya Raman to concede LA mayor’s race: ‘this is not the outcome we had hoped for’

Nithya Raman has won the Los Angeles mayoral race, defeating incumbent Karen Bass in a narrow victory. Raman, a progressive urban planner and former LA city councilmember since 2020, becomes the first DSA-endorsed mayor of the city. This political shake-up follows Raman's late entry into the race after previously endorsing Bass. Karen Bass has conceded the election, acknowledging that the result was not the outcome they had hoped for amidst growing local dissatisfaction.
