Randolph Mantooth, who portrayed paramedic Johnny Gage on the popular NBC series Emergency!, died on July 9 in Ventura at age 80. Mantooth rose to fame in 1972 through the show, which introduced the paramedic profession to the general public. He co-starred alongside his real-life friend Kevin Tighe, who played Roy DeSoto. Following his success on the series, Mantooth appeared in numerous soap operas throughout his professional acting career in the entertainment industry.
