Heirloom: Bringing Our Ancestors’ Handwriting Back to Life

Two projects were submitted for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine. Heirloom is a tool that uses a local laptop model to transcribe ancestral handwriting from photographs, allowing users to read old letters and diaries. Meanwhile, DARK-IT is an AI-powered investigation tool designed to help users explore and understand inactive or complex GitHub repositories, simplifying the process of analyzing unfamiliar codebases that lack proper documentation or have been abandoned.
