Decoding Hostel Life: Building a 100% Offline AI Slang Translator for Infosys Mysore DC🚀

Two developers created offline AI translation tools for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge. The DC Roommate Slang Bridge serves Infosys Mysore DC trainees, translating regional slangs and campus banter to reduce cultural misunderstandings among roommates. Simultaneously, a privacy-first Speech Translator was built using HTML and JavaScript for elderly family members. This web application utilizes browser speech APIs and local open-weight AI to ensure secure, cost-free translations without cloud tracking, specifically aiding communication during healthcare visits.
