Red Sox trade Nate Eaton to Athletics

The Boston Red Sox traded 29-year-old outfielder Nate Eaton to the Athletics in exchange for right-handed pitcher Jareth Rayo. Eaton had previously served in a limited role with the Sox. The Athletics announced the deal on Thursday, with the acquisition being managed by their new president of baseball operations. The trade concludes with the Athletics receiving the outfielder while the Red Sox acquire the minor league pitcher as part of the official player exchange between clubs.
