As search traffic dries up, Reddit announces it’s shifting to a logged-in experience

Reddit is transitioning toward a logged-in experience to protect its business and audience as AI transforms online information discovery. This strategic shift comes as search traffic decreases due to the impact of AI. The company is currently initiating tests for this new model in regions outside of the US. By rethinking its open-web roots, Reddit aims to secure its platform's future while adapting to the evolving landscape of how users find content across the internet.
