Republicans pick ballot replacement for Rep. Chuck Edwards in NC-11

North Carolina Republicans selected state Rep. Jennifer Balkcom as the GOP nominee for the 11th Congressional District. She replaces Rep. Chuck Edwards, who withdrew from the race following a US House investigation that found his conduct toward young female staffers likely constituted sexual harassment. Balkcom will compete against Democratic nominee Jamie Ager in the November midterm elections. The selection by the state GOP executive committee occurred approximately 85 days before Election Day in western North Carolina.
