NASA mission to rescue the falling Swift observatory has launched

NASA has launched an emergency mission to rescue the Swift Observatory, which was originally deployed in 2004. Recent solar storms lowered its orbit, risking atmospheric reentry this year. To prevent this, NASA enlisted Katalyst Space Technologies to deploy the LINK robotic spacecraft. The mission successfully launched on Friday, and NASA has already established contact with the LINK spacecraft, which aims to intercept the observatory and stave off its imminent demise in the atmosphere.
