Review: A butt-kicking Lakota man ponders violence in ‘Wisdom Corner’

In the novel Wisdom Corner by David Heska Wanbli Weiden, the protagonist Virgil Wounded Horse is a Lakota man who grapples with his own propensity for violence. Despite engaging in multiple fights within a single week, Virgil possesses a level of self-awareness regarding his aggressive behavior. The narrative explores the internal conflict of a hero attempting to bridge the gap between his physical actions and his mental realization of being too violent.
