Final Fantasy Resonance Review: A Stunning Return to Square Enix’s JRPG Roots

Square Enix has released Final Fantasy Resonance, an HD-2D title that returns the franchise to its traditional JRPG roots. Available on PS5 and Switch 2, the game reimagines the decommissioned mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius by removing free-to-play systems in favor of a classic turn-based adventure. Critics praise the game for adhering to old-school sensibilities, describing it as a stunning rework that provides a glimpse of how modern installments could look while prioritizing RPG mechanics.
