Rheinmetall Unveils GMF140 Next-Gen 6,000-Tonne Frigate for North America

Rheinmetall has unveiled the GMF140, a next-generation 140-metre guided missile frigate exceeding 6,000 tonnes. Designed for North American naval projects, the vessel integrates AEGIS technology and 64 VLS cells to provide destroyer-level firepower within a mid-sized frame. The GMF140 focuses on advanced ASW and full-spectrum modern naval warfare capabilities. This design aims to offer navies a cost-effective modernization path by delivering high-end missile defense technology typically found on much larger warships.
