Poland says it thwarted Russian plot to kill an American citizen

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Poland foiled a Russian plot to assassinate a Ukrainian-American citizen in Warsaw. A Russian suspect, allegedly recruited by Russian intelligence services, was arrested on August 7. According to Tusk, the target was considered inconvenient to the Putin regime. The operation successfully thwarted the attempt by the secret services to carry out the killing on Polish soil, leading to the immediate detention of the hired individual involved in the plot.
