‘Ray Gunn’ Review: Sam Rockwell And Scarlett Johansson Channel Bogie And Bacall In Brad Bird’s Nifty Sci-Fi/Film Noir Mashup – London Film Festival

Ray Gunn is a Netflix animated neo-noir film directed by Brad Bird and produced by Skydance Animation. Starring Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson, the story follows a golden-hearted private eye tasked with wrangling a volatile starlet. The production also features Tom Waits and Bobby Cannavale. While some view the sci-fi mashup as nifty, others find the project forgettable. David Ellison aims for Oscar recognition through this original work, moving beyond his typical Paramount or Warner Bros collaborations.
