Connie Chan concedes CA-11 race, congratulates Scott Wiener

San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan conceded the race for California’s 11th Congressional District on Wednesday, congratulating state Sen. Scott Wiener on his election victory. After reviewing preliminary results and remaining ballots, Chan determined there was no clear path to victory. Scott Wiener will succeed retiring Rep. Nancy Pelosi in the San Francisco House seat. In doing so, Wiener defeated the hand-picked successor of Pelosi, marking a rare loss for the congresswoman in her home city.
