Seattle passes one-year data center moratorium

Seattle has implemented a one-year moratorium on data centers. Similarly, the Metro Council in Nashville advanced a 90-day temporary moratorium on new data center permits following a controversy involving the Nashville Zoo. This temporary measure was passed with a 26-1 vote on the first reading. The pause allows lawmakers to evaluate and develop broader legislation intended to regulate the specific locations where these data center facilities can be constructed within the city.
